I recently entered the headset world with the Turtle Beach XO Four. I have found I like the immersion a headset provides as well as the lack of complaining wife about loud gaming. Now that I like it I want to up what I have.

Needs:

I sit 20ish feet away from my TV so I need wireless or some sort of huge cord

Surround sound a must (virtual obviously fine)

Needs to connect to xbox one controller for microphone use.

Beneficial to be able to have an aux in for use with my ipod

I have researched and think astro a50 and H wireless from steelseries may fit my needs, but I'm open to suggestions. I've heard people picking up a mixamp and some solid audiophile cans so if there is a logical way to set that up in a large room I'm all ears.

Budget: $300-$400

i'd say try out the A50 if you're already leaning in that direction. it's a bit pricey, but for a wireless headset, it's quite good. transmits on 5ghz which may help if your 2.4ghz band is congested. it's also been confirmed on the xb one and has pretty solid surround-sound.

happy gaming :)
