Laptop keyboard - as I'm typing it stops or repositions letters somewhere else

I've had my laptop for 1 1/2 years and just recently when I'm typing the curser will disappear and quit typing on the screen or the curser will reposition itself between already typed words allowing me to type words within words. So frustrating! I don't know how to fix.

This can sometimes happen when the mousepad goes bad. You can try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers to see if that helps, but I doubt it.

Are you still using the same built-in wireless network card? I've also had this happen on desktop computers that were using TP-Link wireless adaptor and their profile software for the card.

Thanks danny2000 for responding. I spoke incorrectly, my keyboard is not wireless. It's actually my laptop with the keyboard attached as one unit. Not sure if that changes your answer to my question. :)

Since it just recently started and I doubt you changed how you type, it sounds like your touchpad might be malfunctioning and registering false taps, try disabling your touchpad and if that stops it from happening either get a mouse or see if there is a way to disable it while typing I use Linux primarily so I can't tell you how to do it in windows. I had problems with my palm hitting the touchpad causing exactly what you describe, one of the reasons I would rather have a touchpad beside the key board instead of a number pad.

Thanks William. My palm hitting the touchpad I believe is the cause. I agree with having the touchpad beside the keyboard. Great idea. I've decided to plug a keyboard into the USB port to avoid the hassle. I've never been fond of the flat keys on a laptop anyways. Thanks for the help!
