I've had this problem for a while now where my headset (A pair of Razer Carcharias) makes a really weird effect when playing music (it only does this with music and skype calls). The audio goes all dimmed down and scratchy. I've tested this with Grooveshark, VLC and Media Player and they all have the same problem. I've reinsalled my realtek drivers several times but to no avail. I then went into a game that was a music based game and found that there was no problems there! It also only happens with this headset. There is also a place 3/4 plugged in where the music becomes crisp again but everything else goes scratchy. (This also all started relatively recently)

EDIT: Was just messing around realtek control panel and if I set only audio from the right side to come out it works however any audio that is set to come out of the left doesn't come up (which messes up a lot of songs) and vice versa.

It in a 3.5mm and both front and back headers do it. (None of the other devices in my house do this with this headset)

Um... They only have 3.5mm connectors and I don't have (or even know where to get) a usb -> 3.5.

It's not that exact model of carcharias. (It's cheaper) It's the one with only 2 connectors (mic and headset).

Then how come other headphones work perfectly and there seems to be no damage to the headset connector at all.
