the battery charger of my laptop is not working but i still working

ok. my battery charger doesn't charge my laptop any more, so i have it anyway plugged, to the wall, and even if is not charging my laptop, i can still have it on and using the internet etc. am i burning or doing something wrong to my lop top?

if your laptop runs with the charger plugged in but not with it unplugged its your battery rather than the charger thats gone bad.

if is a dell or HP, maybe the charger is the problem, dell chargers have an ID pin so they know if the original charger is used or not, if an original charger is not detected, the battery doesnt charge and the laptop sometimes adapts to less power and lowers performance as a result.

of course it can be also the battery that is wrong on top of that.

if it is indeed a dell she will also get an error message that the charger wont work.

Hi, maybe your battery is too old and will not charge anymore, don't worry even if your battery is not charging, the laptop works like it should with no problem. But if your laptop is recent, then you have a problem, it depends of the age of your laptop and how you use the battery.
