my laptop is giving me video tdr failure it does it when i turn graphics up or jus playing the game on low graphics for a long

my laptop is giving me video tdr failure it does it when i turn graphics up or jus playing the game on low graphics for a long time what do i do???? i have a nvidia geforce plus 1tb and windows 8.1 i dont understand please help

Are the graphics drivers up to date for Windows 8.1? Or are they Windows 7 drivers that you may need to run in compatibility mode?

Are the graphics drivers up to date for Windows 8.1? Or are they Windows 7 drivers that you may need to run in compatibility mode?
