i am using a alienware mx17r4 with a intel i7-3610qm@2.3GHz

i love that i have a i7 but when i see the 2.3GHz compared to so many posts claiming 3.0-4.5GHz in laptops as well i get kind of frustrated. considering how much i paid for the brand >_>

anyways i was wondering what options i have to get a faster cpu and if it is even worthit.

btw i mainly use it for website building/game building and running skyrim with over 100 mods and a performance heavy enb.

You shouldn't judge the clockspeeds of laptop CPUs and GPUs. They cannot just take up so much power, so they have to downclock a lot. I doubt you can upgrade the CPU of a laptop, as you usually could only upgrade the RAM and HDD. Most CPUs are soldered on the motherboard. You should double check that, as it varies across vendors. If you could, a 3720QM would be a solid upgrade, but it is pretty hard to find laptop processors.
