Hi my older brother has this Sony Sound system. http://www.thesource.ca/estore/Product.aspx?language=en-CA&catalog=Online&category=Mini+Shelf+Systems&product=8011542 its something similar to this one but without the USB, and 8 pin iPod connector, just the old connector (4th Gen) and anyways he wants $100 but its about 2 years or so old but its extremely loud and bassy but cant use it fully (like with all bass) cause my room is upstairs and will disturb my whole family. Is $100 a good deal or should i not even bother.
Also if there is the same kind of quality sound system from the Source ONLY please list.
Also is this one better as its newer. http://www.thesource.ca/estore/Product.aspx?language=en-CA&catalog=Online&category=Mini+Shelf+Systems&product=8011545

It's worth what people will pay for it.

Sony tends to make quality products, so if there's nothing wrong with it that sounds reasonable.

"Is this better...?"
I doubt there's any difference in the general QUALITY, however it's not quite the same device and doesn't have the same BASS as the original link shows one with a SUBWOOFER.

I think you'd be happy EITHER WAY but here's some points:
1) Original model appears to have more BASS; however you also say that the sound carries so isn't that a PROBLEM for you?

2) Make sure the CONNECTIVITY is correct for your product. On the OLD one, would an adapter fit if you get a Lightning connection?

3) WARRANTY would have expired on the old product.

So it's not much more for the NEW product with...

So it's not much more for the NEW product with less bass, and if you don't really crank it up much the Bass won't be a huge deal.

On the other hand the old model is probably a solid product.
