I/O Board or motherboard?

I am working on fixing a laptop at the moment. It is a Dell latitude N5110. The problem is that the AC adapter is shorting out (the green light goes out on the brick) when plugged into the DC jack. The laptop was dropped and I have narrowed the problem to either the I/O board or MOBO being damaged. The motherboard and I/O board do not show any physical damage. Below are pics of the I/O board. Sorry for the sideways pictures.

The power brick is still shorting when the I/O board is disconnected from the MOBO but I am not sure the board will even work when not connected to the motherboard anyways.

Is there any way to test the I/O board by itself?

Should I bother buying a new board from ebay or is it certainly a damaged motherboard?

Any help troubleshooting would be appreciated.

Thank you!!
