I had my laptop at work. It was plugged into the wall with the power brick laying the the floor. My work ended up flooding and when I came back to work from the weekend, the power brick looked like it had crumbled apart from the brick getting wet.

Now my question is, should my laptop itself still work? Do I need to replace the battery? Or is everything just SHOT now? It's a laptop from 2012, an HP DV6 7014nr. So it should have power protection or something.

I kind of assumed the laptop would work just find and only need another power brick. As the water didn't touch my laptop or the battery. I figure at the most it may need another battery.

Any help would be appreciated. As I don't want to spend money on a power brick if my laptop is broken anyways.

I would just go to best buy or somewhere and buy an adapter there. I think they have HP ones specifically, and I'm sure they have a universal one that works. If it works, great, if not, take it back.
