Hi all,

So recently my desktop broke and I need a mobile gaming solution, so I decided that I am going to buy a gaming laptop. However, I am torn between the MSi GS70's size/weight and the Asus G750's performance. Will the GTX 765M limit my games severely? eg. Playing Crysis 3, etc.? or should I get the Asus G750 with a GTX 780M. I will also do some light-medium video editing during trips, but it comes second after gaming. I will be moving this laptop around a moderate amount, but not a lot. So should I go with the MSi one or the Asus one?

Thanks,

for stuff like crysis you're going to want at least a 770m or better (8970M for radeon or 780M or an SLI solution)
unless you're hell-bent on getting the big asus there are better laptops for that spec - depending on where you're shopping from
what's your location and budget?

If you can whack together another $100 then you can get the Aorus X7: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834233033
This is probably your best solution that will actually be able to keep up Crysis at ultra settings or better assuming that it's capable of using SLI.
It's also the thinnest of it's category, and will last a long time, especially with an aluminium framework.

If you can't get the Aorus then if you get a 765M solution, then you'll be stuck at playing crysis at high or lower to get 60+., if this is the case then the GS stealth is your best bet; especially if mobility is a large concern.
Please Note - March 12, there will be a new version of the stealth, the GS Stealth Pro - that's set for jus shy of $2000; but the graphics hardware hasn't been announced yet, though i'd bet it'll run an 860M or a 870M; so keep that in mind. link here: http://www.xoticpc.com/msi-gs70-stealthproxxx-ships-mar12-p-6936.html?wconfigure=yes
There is also a 15" version called the GS60 ghost that will have the 860M graphics - which is just better than a 770M, which should do Crysis 3 just fine at high, and possibly ultra
There are custom builders that use Clevo's as models; they don't look pretty but for $2000 you can get some really solid hardware inside like a 780: link here: http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np8255s-clevo-p157sm-eta-midmarch-p-5870.html?wconfigure=yes
hope this helps.
