I am considering purchasing this laptop, but the one concern I have is that people say that you need to update the BIOS. According to numerous reviews, the bios needs to be updated before upgrading to Windows 8.1 because if you don't, the processor will not exceed 1.5ghz when the computer is plugged into the A/C adapter.
Is updating the BIOS safe? Is it easy? Do you think it's necessary?

Support may even be willing to expound upon how to update the BIOS. If it doesn't seem daunting to you, then go for it! As long as it's under warranty, they should be able to service it if a BIOS flash goes awry anyway.
