Should I update the bios on this laptop? Not sure if it's safe.

I am considering purchasing this laptop, but the one concern I have is that people say that you need to update the BIOS. According to numerous reviews, the bios needs to be updated before upgrading to Windows 8.1 because if you don't, the processor will not exceed 1.5ghz when the computer is plugged into the A/C adapter.

Is updating the BIOS safe? Is it easy? Do you think it's necessary?

That's not a bad idea. :) Support may even be willing to expound upon how to update the BIOS. If it doesn't seem daunting to you, then go for it! As long as it's under warranty, they should be able to service it if a BIOS flash goes awry anyway.

I want the computer for it's incredible speed and the bargain that you're getting it for. Although I do not want to purchase it if the processor can't even be fully used. I think I'll contact Lenovo and ask them about their product and see if it's necessary or not. Thank you.
