Hello, I have an Acer Aspire 5755. Recently I had an issue where I lost the drivers for all 3 USB ports and the HDMI port. I had a friend who is an IT guy help me and we managed to fix the problem with the USB's. However, now when I try to connect my laptop to my TV with an HDMI cable, the tv system shows "no signal". I can only imagine that I am still missing the driver. How do I identify what the actual driver is that I need and then how do I install it?
Thanks!!

On your laptop, did you use the appropriate function key to tell the system to output via the HDMI connection? Unless configured otherise, most laptops only display to their internal display by default.

Also, in Device Manager you should be able to see if there are any missing/damaged drivers for devices.

There is no such thing as an HDMI driver, but you do need the proper graphics card driver. So let's check that:

1. Open device manager (windows button, type device manager, enter);
2. Expand "Display Adapters";
3. There should be at least one entry and, hopefully, it doesn't have a yellow warning sign. If it does, then you probably will need to download the drivers. For that, we need to know your laptop's make and model;
4. If step 3 was clear, then try expanding the image (Windows button+"P"), chose duplicate.

If you still get no image, give us more info on the laptop so we can dig around.

EDIT: Just saw you had already stated the notebook's make and model, sorry. We need to know the OS, though.

Look at your keyboard. Along the top, one of the function keys should have what looks like a monitor on it (usually F8). Pressing that, along with the FN key (so FN+F8) will change your output modes (internal only, internal and external, and external only).
