I just purchased an Acer Aspire V5-552G-X412 and I noticed that after a few hours of installing updates and software this ringing noise began from one of the fans. When the laptop isn't running much its dead silent, but when the fan(s) kick on it gives a very annoying and noticeable ringing/buzzing sound. I can record the sound if it will help at all.
I am curious if this is a common occurrence? Although it is very frustrating given that I spent hours setting up this laptop, I will most likely be returning it to Amazon. If this is a common thing, I'd rather stay clear of the laptop altogether as I wouldn't want this to happen after having the PC for a few months and cannot simply return it.

Luckily I do not have a ringing sound, just had a sound of the fan working, I updated the BIOS and AMD Catalyst BETA and the fan seems to work more correctly, however it stills has a minute sound of the fan working which just loud enough to annoy me. I usually get a new computer just about every year and this is the noisiest laptop so far. Again its not super bad, but someone that is OCD with sounds it may not be appropriate.
