I have a Lenovo G560 laptop, and the monitor is LG Philips LP156WH4-TLA1. I have noticed some black patches, like two of them, to the right of the screen that are slightly darker than their surroundings. They fade quickly as we go to the left, and they are clearer if viewed from the top.
The patches are not clearly visible without focusing for some time at the right side, but they are more noticeable on a white or even more on a gray background. They are also more visible when the brightness is low.
I would also add that the screen is only slightly warmer on the right side, if felt from the back (I do not touch the screen itself). However, I wouldn’t call it hot. The rest of the screen to the left seems like room temperature. The screen flickers a bit when only on battery, I have not noticed any of that when plugged to charger.
The current is not stable in my local area, and goes out frequently. I have doubts that it might be the cause of this.
In addition, the laptop has fallen before from more than half a meter distance some 8 months ago, with screen’s top right edge first, another possible cause. However, I haven’t noticed any changes back then.
You have to forgive that I haven’t provided any pictures given the fact that I can’t think of a camera with a quality that can detect these slight faults. I might be a bit paranoid, but I fear things could go worse quickly, and replacing the monitor is usually less economic than replacing the entire laptop itself.
What could be wrong with the monitor (or VGA for that matter)? Please give me advice on what to do?

I'm looking to identify the problem. If I identified wrong, I might replace the monitor while the problem is with another part i.e. graphics card, inverter, electric supply, etc...

You never know what damage the electricity might have caused, or if I'm "lucky", the damage is due to physical causes and only the monitor received the hit.
