All of a sudden...Am getting this IP Address Conflict message. More than one one computer using this network address. So what?? HP diagnostics tells me firewall issue (314)?? I use Norton and my windows firewall is off because i use Norton pretty tight settings. So i get network error pop up a lot / difficulty connecting to FB and while on slow and difficulty reading comments and sharing links. I can get to other websites fine but while on may or may not get network error message. My provider reset router and not thinking that is the problem as I have network connection. Hesitant to change settings unless i know exactly why and admittedly am a bit if a novice.

Norton is probably to blame. Those extra tight settings may be preventing your computer from refreshing its IP address properly with the DHCP server (your router). Try temporarily disabling norton, then running the following at the command prompt:

ipconfig /renew

In case you're interested, I find Norton to be an awful POS that promotes nervous users and seriously degrades system performance.

hi Billie Bee
I have exactly the same problem and have wasted hours trying to get Norton to even acknowledge the issue. I cannot disable Norton myself as Norton 360 kind of takes over the rights to the Firewall settings. I would appreciate if you can advise if the suggestion from noise worked,

thanks
