NOTE: Pretty much fixed, see edit at bottom
I have these speakers: http/puu.sh/78moT.jpg
Today I went to move them to another room to let my roommate plug in his iPod, and we found that we couldn't get any sound from them. So I moved them back, and once again we got no sound.
After moving them around more and checking that everything was plugged in, I left them plugged in and started writing up a post here. At that point I got a Facebook message and the speakers kicked into action. Cool! They're working.
So I shove the subwoofer under my desk and put the left and right speakers next to my monitor, and let them sit for a while and go into the next room. I even hear me getting a skype call while I'm out there but I have to let it go for the time being. When I get back and call my friend again I find that the speakers are now again out of order and I have no idea why.
I'm figuring maybe it's something with the speakers. Perhaps something went wrong when I plugged them into that one socket. My roommate noted we'd had trouble with that socket before. I know that power is going to them - when I plug the cord into the back of the subwoofer slowly I can see a small spark as it connects.
EDIT: WOW, jiggling the wires around fixed it. Turns out the issue was there. What causes that?
