Dell Inspiron new mother board new LCD, new reed sensor, work with external monitor only,

I have this dell inspiron m5030, the mother board die, I got it replaced, then I had to replace the LCD, still had not response with the LCD always black, then I realized that the new mother board don't come with a new reed sensor, so I installed the one from the old mother board, the lid started working, but the lap top only run with an external monitor, I have noticed that every time I go to the dell support web site they offer me download drivers, or update the system then the lap top go crazy again, is dell trying to make me pay for theirs expensive services? how I can get my new LCD to work, even the cable is new...

I'm assuming this is a laptop. Did you remember to plug it in to the motherboard?
