Hello everyone! I bought a gaming PC a few months ago and before that I used my laptop. The laptop was really loud when I put it on full blast but when I turn all the sound up It's quiet. Not quiet as in I can't hear it, but quiet as in it's not as loud as my laptop was. I don't have a sound card and I just use my headphones. I also use speakers which aren't very loud either, so it can't bee my headphones or anything it must be a problem with the PC.

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A99X_EVO/#support. From this site go to driver & tools and then choose the Os u r currently using and then go down to Audio. and choose the driver u want to download.

Do you have proper drivers and everything, and did u check if the connector was fully plugged in to the audio jack. if you did all that maybe the headphone connector doesnt work properly. whats the model and brand of the mobo?

Check the front panel connections on the motherboard. Also try using the rear headphone jack instead of the front panel one. The rear is typically louder because it has a more direct connection with the amplifier.

That was also part my fault as I read the post too fast. The first thing I would check would be the front panel connectors that run from the case to the motherboard. They are small wires towards the bottom of the motherboard. The may have a colored wire, and the plastic pieces should be labeled so you know which is which.

I'm not sure about the drivers, I don't remember installing drivers for audio. The connector is fully connected to the audio jack. The motherboard is ASUS M5A99X

Try using the green jack on the rear of the motherboard instead of the front panel. That should let you know if it is indeed the headphone jack, or if it is the headphones.

I found the problem, I installed the drivers and then I plugged the cable in but I noticed that it wasn't working properly so I got a different one and it sounds much better
