I just set my surround sound up through my tv and got my HDMI cable connected through my computer to my tv as well. One thing I'm not sure of is whether or not it's bad for either device to leave my HDMI cable plugged in 24/7 on both ends, even when both the TV and computer are off. I tried googling it but couldn't find anything helpful.
