I'm looking for a (primarily) gaming laptop within the price range of $700-$900.

I don't know much about computers at all, so I'll try to describe what I need well to give you a better idea.

Size: 15"-17"

I'm not going to be playing many graphically demanding games, but I will be playing many games that are mod supported, here's a list of games that I'm going to play often:

-Borderlands 1&2
-Fallout 3 &NV
-Dragon Age: Origins & DA2
-Oblivion & Skyrim, maybe Morrowind
-Baldur's Gate
-Fable
-Diablo 3
-KoTOR 1&2

- And whatever occasional Steam Sale games look appealing.

I also intend to use this as storage/player for music and Netflix. So a hdd capacity of at least 500gb, and at least 4gb if not 6 of RAM.

If you need anymore info to hone in on an answer, let me know. Thanks!

None of those games are really demanding, as you said yourself, I would look for a laptop that has a GT 750M or 755M. That GPU should be good enough for all those games and also some of the more newer games at medium settings. I didnt mention a CPU because most laptop Ive seen that feature those GPUs have a I7 processor, which are plenty powerful.

Laptops like the Ideapad Y410p or Y510P have models that start at $720 and they feature the above GPU, but Im not sure what else you want, as in screen size, resolution etc (I have also seen some Toshiba Satellites that have similar specs)

If you want something more powerful (and also near the max of your budget) then you can look at the higher up variations of the above stated Ideapads or a Clevo/Sagar laptop

Thank you, did a quick five minute browse online for both, if I'm not buying from the Lenovo site, those prices are pretty steep. Do you know anybody who has owned one before/currently owns one?

Some time around holidays my brother got an Acer V3 machine with quad core Haswell i7 CPU, 17 inch 1080p screen and GeForce 750M graphics for about $930 from Amazon. The thing is wicked fast for what he runs. Nice build, slightly bulky, but that's his main desktop "rig".
