Hello everyone, I am here to ask you for your opinion on the best gaming laptop available. For under $1250, of course, because that is all my budget can handle.

I was looking for a laptop, one that is somewhat, thin, light, and can handle some of the best games available. I myself have a gaming rig, running a overclocked 3770k, 2x 7970s and 16gigs of ram. No I don't expect performance near the performance I get on my desktop, but I would like to be able to play the same games with similar Resolution.

Now for specs, I am thinking an i5 or i7, 6+ gigs of ram and a 750m equivalent or higher. I also would like a 1080p screen, backlit keyboard, a nice build quality, such as metal, poly carbonite or something, I just want it to look nice. Thanks in advance everyone.

Gaming and Ultrabook generally are not terms that go together. Ultrabook is a marketing term created by Intel in order to create laptops to compete with tablets. They have to be under a specific thickness, have enough battery life, etc. etc. and they are built for office tasks. They come with ULV CPUs to save power and generate less heat, and all in all, are NOT very powerful. That being said, here's something similar to what you requested:

Just $100 out of budget, because there really aren't very many thin and light gamers so the ones that do exist overcharge for it.

UPDATE:

It is only $50 out of budget.

The "best" gaming ultrabook is sure the new Razer Blade 14 in terms of performance in that thin chassis, although this is highly subjective. As LummusMaximus said, the term gaming (raw power) and ultrabook (very thin, light, efficient and portable) does not fit together. The thinner the laptop, the hotter it can get, no DVD drive, limited to SSD do to needing it light and small. And if you already ask for the "best" gaming ultrabook, you can't get such under 2000$ for now.
