For basic computer use, is the AMD A8-4500M a good buy? Will it hold up over time?

I'm looking for a basic computer that runs Microsoft office and connects to the internet efficiently. I don't need anything special. Is the HP Pavilion 17-e134nr Notebook PC with a AMD A8-4500M processor a good buy? I know AMD processors have had a shaky past so I'm hesitant to invest any money in a laptop that might not last me a year. Any help with understanding the processors or any recommendations for simple laptops would be great.

The dependability of AMD processors and APUs are equal to Intel today. So no worry there. As long as you aren't a gamer, it will be good. Not as fast as other laptops, but probably not as expensive either. here is some info on the A8 APU: http
