Please help me, my laptop got wet, water poured through the keyboard while it was on and I was away from it, I heard the laptop shorting so I unplugged it from the power adapter. :( . As expected the mobo shorted, but did my HDD short along with it? :??:

The HDD is located below the mobo and it has HP protect smart.

*And yes I tried to turn it on later, not much to do since I lost the mobo, and all I got was the lights of the laptop, but no cooler sound, no vga.

Can't know if you lost the HDD until you hook it up to another computer and test it. I say it's a 50/50 chance that you lost it.

Hi, I do not think so, it depends on the amount of water that has entered in the laptop and the position of the hard drive.

The hard drive is located below the mother board, on the oposite side of the processor and it has hp protect smart feature.

Take the drive out. Connect it to some other PC. See if it works.

Just checked the hdd with another pc and it's dead. My guess is the hdd just fried along with it.
