Buying an XLR Mic

I currently have a Blue Yeti I use for recording and streaming, and I'm not sure what I can do to improve the sound. I've been planning on buying an XLR microphone, but I'm unsure of how to connect it to my computer with the least quality loss.

I know I can use an XLR to 3.5mm converter but I'm not sure if that'd ruin quality, I'm not very well versed in the audio engineering world but I just want a high quality sounding microphone for streaming and such.

I've found that my microphone picks up my Keyboard (Microsoft Sidewinder x6) like a garbage truck, it's so loud. And figured this microphone ( http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-AT2035-Diaphragm-Condenser-Microphone/dp/B002T45X1G ) would stop that issue.

I also thought of getting ( http://www.amazon.com/Line-6-POD-Studio-UX2/dp/B001EKECC2 ) as I think it'd be a nice addition, but I'm not sure if it's really needed.

yes the Line Pod you linked is a sound card, and you would definitely need it to record using a condenser mic.

you should check youtube vidoes and see if your yeti is giving you the same quality as it is to others.

you CANNOT plug an XLR mic( especially a condenser mic) into a 3.5mm port. condenser mics require 48V phantom power, which obviously, is not provided by the 3.5mm port. you will need to buy an external sound card as well as a stand for the mic (it is so sensitive, it will pick up vibrations on your table).

Also, regarding the keyboard issue, the condenser mic will pick it up even more, as its a lot more sensitive.

You should be getting decent quality from the yeti, if your just streaming. Try making sure you are using it properly

The Yeti's on a Rode Swivel Mount, mounted in the desk not clamped on. I have a shock mount, but it seemed the Yeti was to heavy for it and it seemed a little redundant at the time.

I thought the Line Pod was be an alternative to the sound card, not sure if it would or not. But if it's not, any noteable soundcards?

As for my Yeti, I'm not sure of any software to use with it. But, I had to tweak the gain a lot for it to be less sensitive. and it is on the setting to record from only the front.
