Hi,

Im looking for a 5.1 or 7.1 Surround sound Headset for my computer with a Mic for under 200.

I play a lot of games, and listen to a lot of music. I have a CM storm Sirus (First Gen) very heavy but love the sound. Its getting old, starting to hear static randomly have to unplug replug usb for it to work, plus the ear pieces are broken as the plastic is Extremely Cheap.

I tried on the Logitech g430 and g930 (same as 430 just wireless right)? I like them any one can suggest anything better?

I had a terrible experience with my G930 because the wireless bands are the same as most wireless routers, and therefore you get a lot of random disconnects and some huge distortion

Why do you need a 5.1 headphone? That stuff is a gimmick and a flat out lie, you can't receive anything more than 2 channels with only two drivers in your headphone, one for left one for right. Get yourself a great headphone and a zalman clip on mic or something similar to that instead.

I mean, I have had 2.1 and 5.1 headsets and the sound quality is insane with the 5.1's that i had... I went from the OLD logitech wireless, to the Sirus 5.1 and I was blown away. I have 5.1 speakers but i think ill downgrade to 2.1 because the way higher Cont. RMS Watts and Peak Watts over the 5.1 systems.

I assure you if you pipe $200 into a normal audiophile headphone ( one not lying about 5.1 or that nonsense ) you are going to enjoy it a lot more. Anything more than 2.1 is a lie in a headphone, flat out nonsense. What you were hearing was a decent headphone with two drivers that claimed to be 5.1 but really wasn't.

A headphone with two drivers cannot give your surround sound. You need a SURROUND SOUND setup to get that. IE, speakers around you that each have their own channel, or a headphone that doesnt exist that wraps entirely around your face that has 5 drivers, each with their own channel. 2 driver headphones ( all headphones ) can only achieve stereo left and right, but you can use crossfeed for music to make it sound more complete with a center image, however this is detrimental for gaming.

$200 audiophile expert recommendation > Giant Gap in accuracy and quality > $200 fake 5.1 gaming headset.
