I am having an issue on my Toshiba sat l755 where graphically demanding programs run slow and are not smooth. These same programs ran fine previously, and have recently showed these symptoms. I will admit, I have probably been running this laptop at about max, if not pushing it over, so I suspect it is either or both a video card or processor problem. I have been running pcsx2(playstation2 emulator) on this laptop.

Concurrently, the battery has also completely failed, to the point that the laptop won't work unless plugged in, and this happened pretty much overnight, there was no slow breakdown.

Can someone please help me to diagnose this problem? I am greatly appreciative of any help. Thank you!

I think because the battery is dead, the power supply doesn't give enough power to the components, so replacing your battery might be a good thing to do. If it still doesn't work, try cleaning your laptop up (the internals). That's all I can think of.

Thank you for your quick reply, I never thought of that. It is a 65 watt psu, that is pretty weak. I also just noticed that I did not share my system specs:

Intel dual core 2gig
Intel(r) HD graphics family 1.78gig ram
4gig system ram

I will work on a battery, if anyone else has any ideas I am all ears in the meantime!

Don't mention it. To clean your laptop, I suggest you use an air duster on the cooling fan, but DO NOT use any liquids. If you are good with computer hardware, you can replace the thermal paste on the CPU.
