I have a samsung DVD player with 1 HDMI port and a Digital Coaxial Out. My LG Sound bar only has two Optical ports and a jack for plugging in your phone etc.My DVD player has Youtube and web apps on it and i can only get the sound coming through my old Phillips 42inch LCD tv which the sound is awful. So i was looking for a way to connect the sound bar to my Dvd player. Many thanks.

I bought this of Ebay but it has no insructions. I set it up by using common sense and it wont work.

This seems the reverse of what you need.
You have coaxial out from the DVD, which you want to convert to optical.
This device converts an optical output to coaxial.
