I really want to buy the alienware 14 1700$ model but don't know when the new laptops are coming out and if they are only going to get a revision or a totally new look.

The 880M is is scheduled to hit OEM's sometime around late Feb but it looks like it will probably be a re-branding. Any time new chips (GPU and CPU) are released you can expect to see new laptops as well, last year it coincided with Haswell, I think it was June(ish) which is Q3. This year maybe a little bit different but at the latest Q3
