Okay, I'm going to try and describe this the best I can.

You know the keys that have like F1 and F2 and stuff on them? Well, on those same keys are my 'skip song' and 'volume up/down' buttons. Well, usually when I hit one of those keys, the 'skip song' or 'volume up/down' button works, not the f1 or f2 or whatever. But I don't know if I pushed something or changed it, but now when I click it, the F1 or F2 button is pushed. Now, if I want to skip a song or turn my volume up or down, I have to hold down the FN key while I push the button instead of just pressing it.

I know what the FN key is for, but usually I don't have to push the FN button for the volume up button to register. Now I do have to push that key or else the F10 key registers instead.

Is there any way to fix this? Please help me out!

After looking the manual of your laptop, in page 117 indicates that: "Function Key enables you to activate functions by pressing specific keys either singly or in combination with Fn."

Seems like you need to change the "Function option", if it's enabled switch it to disable or viceversa and see if it works like you want it to, just follow the instructions in the manual in page 117.

That's odd... usually the way is performing right now is the default way to work, if you post the exact model of your laptop maybe we can find out how to get it back to the way you're used to.

"Windows 8" is the OS.

Looking on the bottom of my Toshiba:
Something like "Satellite L305-S5955"

Many laptops have a Fn Lock, similar to CapsLock or NumLock. The only way we can tell you is to know the specific model.

Alright, for some reason, while I was typing I accidentally pushed the F10 button and it turned the volume up! So I guess that means its fixed. I don't know what happened, but thank you all for your wonderful help!
