Gaming laptop help!!! please reply..

So, the first has better GPU, the second better CPU. The differences are neglible, but the GPU on the first is what I'd go for based on the fact games are usually more demanding on your graphics. Plus, it uses Intel's newer Haswell architecture that has stronger integrated graphics for non-gaming tasks and longer battery life if you want to use it as a portable machine.

The second is stronger in areas like memory, however memory is very easy to upgrade and two 4GB sticks go for ~96 dollars. The biggest offset in any PC part purchase is that although putting new parts in can usually be done by a novice, they're quite expensive.

Hi LummusMaximus thanks for the reply i was also thinking the same thing but holding back because of i5 4200u being a ulv processor i'm a bit skeptic as how well it will perform while gaming and normal tasks and the last reply on this thread :http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1978645/4200u-performance.html
kinda freaked me out..

Well, the thing is that all Intel processors you'll get (that aren't slow and underpowered) come with Turbo Boost. The ultralow voltage one, however, is designed for ultrabooks- less heat and more battery life. Through hyperthreading to 4 cores, which is where most games max out. If heat is a concern, go for the first one as well.

Okay so you mean to say that the laptop cpu will be in turbo boost mode when i play games so i wont see any performance decrease but the guy in the thread said that when the laptop is in turbo mode it tends to heat a lot so my question is up to what temperature can the turbo boost mode be enabled? these haswell processors can take up to 100 °C before shutting down so can the turbo boost be enabled upto this temperature??

I wouldn't recommend pushing it to the maximum operating temperature, that can damage the CPU and cause your shiny new system to die so much faster. Generally, I think it'll max out at around 95 degrees, at which point it will slow down the turbo boost and even underclock to maintain a more stable operating temperature.

And what will be the temperature if i play crysis 3 on medium settings for 4 to 5 hours i mean will it reach 95 degrees..

This is a laptop. If you pick out any laptop and play any game for 4-5 hours it will get hot. It applies to 99% of the systems out there. Don't worry, as long as you don't overclock, it's designed to avoid frying itself. If you want such long gaming sessions, though, maybe get a desktop. They tend to have better cooling.

Another thing to consider is cooling pads. They make a difference to my laptop when gaming, and a good one costs ~20 dollars, and even cheapo ones will make a (slightly) noticeable difference in temperatures.

I have a good cooling pad by cooler master so it will come in handy,i wont overclock the laptop but turbo boost is something you can't control unless you use throttlestop which i wont ,I was just a bit worried as to how will a laptop clocked at 1.6 Ghz perform with a good graphic card it will obviously bottleneck it,so considered z500 which has better cpu.. i thought about getting a desktop but later decided not to as i'm gonna use it in college too..

The Card 740m is 64 bit.It is not the version you have seen in notebookcheck.net.It's 128 bit version which you have seen.It will bottleneck the all games as the 128 bit one play very hardly crysis 3 and BF3 on low settings.

Alright i really appreciate your help! i found a very good article by notebookcheck.net which benchmarked dell latitude and lenovo z510 which has almost same components like these two and i can clearly see dell wins in terms of gaming i wont be playing any multiplayer games so i don't think the cpu should be stressed alot i really hope the temperature stays below 75 degrees while playing games like Assassin's creed 4 for an hour or two as it's when the cpu downclocks itself to 1.6 Ghz what do you think?

Here's the first laptop i'm considering to buy although my only concern is it's an underclocked dual core cpu :http://www.flipkart.com/dell-inspiron-15r-laptop-4th-gen-ci5-4gb-750gb-win8-2gb-graph/p/itmdpznnd4uvs9mt?pid=COMDPZNHVJ8QSKUJ&otracker=from-search&srno=t_2&query=8850m&ref=3d5c445c-c3a1-4c8a-8e45-c1cc006be317

Here's the second one which is again a dell laptop which is in my range here the only concern i have is 1600x900p resolution for 17.3 inch laptop might be bad!! : http://www.snapdeal.com/product/dell-17r-turbo-laptop-3rd/685197315/?pos=0;1;4
