ok, so I only recently started trying to learn how to fix computers myself, so I'll try to explain what my problem is as best I can.

My roommate gave me his old laptop recently and he had removed windows seven (which it had come preinstalled with) and in so doing I guess he somehow lost the proper drivers for the network hardware.
I need advice on how to restore my acer aspire one to its factory settings, and I have no copy of windows 7 to use to restore it, like I said it just came with the used laptop.

If he removed the Windows installation, there's no way to "revert" back to a time when he had the Windows installation with the drivers installed. You have to download the drivers yourself. Normally they'll be on your manufacturers website, or it's as easy as googling "Acer Aspire One drivers" and wala! You have a list of all the drivers you need.

hey this same thing happened to me on my acer aspire desktop 2 weeks ago, after buying a new hard drive (same one that came with pc) and the windows 7 install disc, and watching ALL the self help vids I can, I don't know if there is a solution. alot of vids on youtube will show you solutions and are helpful but not for me. the windows 7 install program doesn't detect any drivers (which is a pretty common problem) even when I do all the command prompts to check drivers. tax return this year: a new better gaming pc. thanks windows 7 for being such a pain in the ass for us all. :)
