Hi

I have a lenovo Y510P with Win8 - Dual GT750M - Driver 334.67 Beta (the stable version 332.21 behave the same) 16GB Ram.

I have serious troubles when running a game with SLI enabled in high settings - It presents stuttering and Graphic Glitches with lots of random fragments, constantly crashing to desktop or even freezing the laptop.

The "optimized settings" of GeForce Experience are clearly too low because when I run almost anygame maxed out with a single GPU runs fine average 20 FPS (too low right? jeje), BUT...when I turn on SLI is a total disaster.

I've tried 2 drivers by now without luck on several games like BF3, Hitman Absolution, Farcry 3. I need help to configure SLi on high/Ultra settings as lots of reviews show.

Plz help

If you get <40-45 fps the micro stutter will be horrible, and farcry 3 is b*** for a Y510P, at 1080P i have to use low/normal settings to get playable 40-70 fps ( 755M sli )

And hitman absolution is quite demanding title too, even my desktop with 7870xt 1200/1500 & FX-8320 @ 4.2ghz doesnt run it that well, even with 1680x1050 res.

You cant run most games maxed ( modern ones atleast ) @ 1080P with this laptop, you have to simply dial the graphic settings down.

As I wrote, 1 GPU can get good 30FPS without some heavy x16 filters or maybe tesellation off while the other is set to PhysX default, that means Sli OFF. - With the same settings but Sli ON (Nvidia recommended) it's even faster with higher FPS but stuttering appears as well as frags and crashes.

Watch this i.e. - > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_OZmSCczXI

Anyway, the point is my SLi is not working properly so I need help setting the cards, or finding the issue.

Thanks

stutter will always be a problem with SLI/CF ( atleast for now )

you would have to push +60fps for a smooth gameplay with 2 GPU's

unfortunately i dont know fixes for crashes, except if its Farcry 3, it just doesnt like to run

Does anybody know good tools to set nvidia drivers from the core and another monitoring tools for SLI systems ? (temp, FPS, Frecuency, volts, etc) - at least to try to find the issue.

I used to set FRAPS and some other tools for AMD, but this is my first SLI rig.

Plz suggestions :D

Fraps is good for FPS, you could get something like HWinfo and just let it run on background and when you are done gaming you can check your min/max/avg temps, CPU speeds, GPU speeds, voltages etcetc..

What about tweak-drivers, or overclocking software for SLI?

It would be nice people with this rig publish their settings for different demanding games and their experience with SLI and performance.

I've ran some test with different configurations always in Bioshock Infinite. So far I've found stuttering and crashes are pretty much random while SLI enabled.

I've try Alternate frame rendering 1 and 2, finding the second being more compatible and stable. I've played with AA quality (4X, 8X, 16X, SLI 8x, SLI 16x CSAA) => result is better performance with lower values while VSYNC is on. SLI 16x CSAA works fine with minor performance impact.
Enabling VSYNC has been good in SLI, the option Smooth Vsync seems the best in stability and performance (half adaptative is also good but heavier). When vsync is off instability is noticeable present.

Odd things:
I tried to force PhysX on GPU 2 for Bioschock Infinite, but always the calculations are in the CPU - What??!! weird.
In one run the game was stable, after playing 5 min I got stuttering mostly on trees but no crashing. With same configuration after cooling and reboot, crashes where present again. - As I stated before this seems all random failure. Could It be a hardware problem??? What should I set in the driver?

Software: MSI Afterburner - RIVA Tuner - HWInfo - MSI Kombustor
