I have a Kenwood receiver model #VR-407 and a Sony Subwoofer model #SA-WM20, A brand new Vizio TV, Direct TV (Genie), a DVD Player and the surround sound was installed from by my homebuilder......is there anyway to explain how to get all of these systems workoing together in my house?? A Diagram works too!

Since your receiver does not have HDMI there is more than one way he could have connected it. Turn on the all the equipment. Check which inputs on the TV give you a picture and which source it is. Check which inputs on the receiver give you sound and which source it is. That will tell you how it is connected and how to use it. Most builders are not great with home theater so he may have not done the best hookup for you. A universal remote control such as a Logitech Harmony (which you can program) or a URC remote (usually needs an experienced programmer) would make the system much easier to use.
