Can I use both VGA video and RCA audio at the same time on a HD TV?

To be brief, I am getting a VGA cable with W/R RCA audio output. I need the cable because it's the only affordable way to get 480P instead of 480I on an old video game system, and it really makes a world of difference. I need this particular cord because the video game system (Dreamcast), does not use a traditional VGA to VGA, and this is the only solution that does not cost 50+ dollars.

This is in the audio section because I do not know if you can have both VGA and RCA audio at the same time on a typical HDTV, so the issue i have is an audio issue. I have a Dynex 32", I am not sure of the model but I know it is the one that does not support S-video and only has 2 hdmi ports. Googling has not helped me.

If this is not possible, I will have to get a RCA to 3.5mm audio I guess.
