wont boot up power lite is lit, fan comes on for a second then nothing no sound nothing help

i have an acer aspire one netbook. the problem is this i spill some water on the keyboard i wiped it up real quick took the battery off removed the memory and turned it upside down keyboard facing the table. so if any water got into the keyboard it would drain onto the table.

well i let it set like that for a couple of days then when i went back and put everything together and pushed the power button the life coes on like to boot up and the fan goes on for a second then it goes off and then nothing it doesnt boot up the fan doesnt come on nothing .

what can i do im hoping i didnt fry the motherboard. suggestions or advice please.

Hi, disconnect the keyboard and try to boot again.

Make sure you put the memory in there correctly, it needs to be pushed in as far back as it can go, and then push it down until the little side tabs lock.

Try hooking your laptop up to a second monitor. Press the power button, and switch displays (should be one of the Fn keys at the top of your keyboard). If nothing shows on the screen, then it is a bad motherboard... I'm sorry to say, but that's the exact problem someone had at the store where I fix PCs.

If the fan abruptly shuts off with the display then it is not just that the hotkey to switch to external monitor was selected.

Good chance his board is bad, but always good to eliminate the easy stuff that is also cheap to replace.
