Okay I have been having a good time with my MSI GT70

It has an i7 4700MQ and GTX 770m 3GB with 8GB of ram

The refresh rate on screen is 60HZ

The game says on FRAPS it is running at 60FPS, But it is so choppy it is unplayable in EVERY game. Skyrim, GTA 4, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Crysis 2 and 3, Just Cause 2 and more D:

What do I do?

If I turn off vsync games run at like 70FPS - 50 FPS. Some drops and I hate 70 FPS gaming since it feels choppy to me even on bigger rigs like my desktop. HOW DO I FIX VSYNC? Is it in the Graphic properties? Is it that stupid intel graphics 4000?

All games run choppy with it on, then when off they run fine. But not the smooth 60FPS I like. What is going on? Is it a laptop thing?

When I say Choppy I mean CHOPPY. I can't even function menus right! And games just slow down AT 60FPS. Yes, They are choppy to the unplayble state at 60FPS lock. If I turn off vsync it runs like 70-80. Heck in Skyrim it runs at 129 FPS... I hate it. I want 60FPS locks. Please help me <3

Make sure your laptop is properly cooled. Gaming laptops can get HOT. Check for driver updates. In the nVidia control panel there might be an option to force v-sync, try that.

I have an MSI GT60 which is the smaller version of your laptop and can confirm the SAME issue as you. Plugging in to my tv and running games at the same resolution eliminates all vsync issues here as well, once I start using the built in display the choppiness is back.

Solution, enable framelock at 58 fps. The problem is that our hardware is muxed. Meaning the 770m feeds through the Intel display driver before hitting the screen. Do not use Nvidia inspector to turn on frame lock as that will break vsync for some reason. Instead use Riva tuner statistics server (rtss). Enjoy.
