Hey there,

My budget is $800 USD and I'm looking for a gaming laptop with at least a 17" screen, and that is able to run games like DayZ, League of legends etc. with at decent quality.

Could someone help me with some suggestions?

Thanks

It's not bad. The nVidia GT 745m is a mainstream type of graphics chip which should be able to run many games at 1366x768 resolution using medium settings. But graphically demanding games likely means you need to drop it down to low settings for good performance.

Older games and less graphically demanding games may be able to be played at 1600x900 with medium quality graphics.

Running games at full resolution (1080p) will likely require a lot of graphics tweaking if the game allows you to do so. For example, it could be possible to play Skyrim at 1080p with a lot of tweaking in the graphics options and also searching for mods that can help improve performance in the game. Plus tweaking the *.ini file to disable grass and shadows...

I do not see you finding a "gaming" laptop with a 17" screen at just $800 do not see it happening. Maybe with a 15.6" but not 17". And even then I am not really sure that $800 is going to give you a gaming laptop they are not cheap.

Well,

It's actually for a friend of mine and he really only plays like League of Legends, and Marvel Heroes. Either of those 2 games don't require to much to be able to run smoothly so I think the one I found might be just fine, although I read about it having a slow hard drive. Really it shouldn't be to much of a problem for a laptop that's only used so often.

If there are any suggestions similar to the laptop I posted earlier, I'd love to hear them but until then I think I've found what I'm looking for.

Thank you all :)
