I have a stereo amplifier and speakers connected to my TV. I also have cable, a Roku player and my pc connected to the TV. I get a hum only when I use the pc-to TV connection. Should I be buying a ground loop isolator just for the 1/8 inch audio cable connecting the pc to the TV?

Solution
Hi
It could be a ground loop or it could be an unshielded cable .
I had the same problem with a very similar length 1/8" cable that caused hum and it turned out to be unshielded and it was meant to be used as a speaker cable not an audio cable.
i replaced it with a shielded cable and solved the problem,no more hum.

I haven't tried. They are in different rooms and I just have a 25 ft 1/8th in pc audio cable connecting the pc to the tv.
