Here is my question,
Msi is better in case of cooling. but it comers with 5400rpm hdd which is slower
on the other hand,
toshiba have everything fast cpu fast gpu fast hdd
but suffers in case of cooling and ofcourse it is cheaper.

Which is better from both?
Can overheating/shutdown problem be fixed by applying better thermal compound+Cooling fan

What is your final opinion?

i hope my answer isn't late since this post has been out for 2 months.and i hope you find this helpful :
1st , i would advice you to stay away from the qosmio series.they are known with faulty cooling systems.it's cooling system is simply horrible.small weak fan for a lot of effort done by the Cpu and Gpu.they claim at toshiba that they had fixed the issue.but actually they didn't and the problem is still there only with less buzz about it
so i would really recommend you with the MSI.but which MSI?
currently the new GT70 dominator is out.with the new Nvidia's 870m 3gb working with kepler technology.it's great gpu and according to some gpu comparison sites,it's close on performance to the mighty 8970m ( relabled to r9 m290 or...

i hope you didn't get the MSI gt70 old version with the 770m.i hope you get the newer one with 870m.
regarding the issue abut slower RPM's .the new gt70 dominator comes with a 1 tera HDD on 7200 RPM.So it's great
and finally.no ,thermal compound is a temporarily solution to the heating problem of toshiba's qosmio.after a while the problem will float to surface
