Hi all,

I have recently decided that I would like to purchase a mac laptop, having never owned one before. Because of this I'm a bit confused as to where to start.

One of the main reasons I want to buy a macbook is to play the upcoming Elder Scrolls Online game – so I'm looking for a model that is going to allow me to 'game' on it. Nothing overly fancy but something that will just get the job done.

Other than that feature I'm not too fussed on much else, obviously the slimmer the better.

Can somebody point me in the right direction? Are macs now actually good for gaming on? I'd like to keep the costs below $1,500.

Thanks!!

For $1500, you won't get a dedicated GPU in any macbook. That will make it harder to game, even on Iris Pro in the 15" Pro. No matter what anyone else says - you can game on them. Install Windows on Bootcamp. I hosted a LAN party with the usual PCs with impressive specs, and my friend brought a macbook pro 15 - last yrs model with the gt650. He kept up in every game, and was playing Skyrim in between games.

Try look for deals on the last gen if it is gaming orientated. You might be able to get it down to your budget.
