I've had a sony vaio SVE1511C5E (with I5-2450M and AMD Radeon HD 7650M) for about a year and a half. I can't remember a time where I didn't have once a day horizontal lines flickering across the screen followed by the message AMD Driver has stopped responding but has reccovered, looking like this:

However now I'm getting a much worse, different problem. Multi-colored lines appear from the bottom of the screen and move up until half the screen is covered, followed by them disappearing. This happened repeatedly until I restarted. This has happened twice in the last 2 days and looks like this:

Does anyone have any idea if this is hardware or software related? and if there is a solution?
