22″ 1080P LED HDTV LD-2240 headphone jack not working

I'm using simple earbuds on my tv and no sound is coming out. Without the earbuds plugged in there is sound but when I plug them in no sound. The TV is a 22″ 1080P LED HDTV LD-2240 I made sure the earbuds work aswell. Please help.
