Hello guys, I would like to get valuable suggestions from the well-known people out here.
I'm looking to buy a laptop. Budget is under Rs.50,000. ($820) I don't play much games, but sometimes spend time playing Football Manager, FIFA and stuff like that.
I will use it mainly for browsing, coding and basic computing things.
Please suggest me a few good models in Dell, HP or Lenovo. I don't wanna opt for Sony or other manufacturers. I'm looking at 3rd/4th (not sure about significant differences) generation i5 processors, with a minimum of 6GB RAM.

Please give me your views. Thanks in advance.

It seems you are in India so here are two laptops with 4th gen Core i5 CPUs, 6GB of RAM and Windows 8. Both are Dell Inspiron 15 series laptops.

The difference is that more expensive version has a dedicated Radeon HD 8670m graphics chip and has a 1TB hard drive. The less expensive relies on the Intel HD 4400 graphics core (both have "U" model Core i5-4200U CPU), and a 750GB hard drive.

Using the exchange rate at of now, that's $787.60 vs. $700.83 (USD currency). That is actually not bad if playing games is going to be a priority. Football manager and FIFA should play fine on the Intel HD 4400 if you would like to save some money.

Here's a link of various...
The difference between new 4th gen vs older 3rd gen are as follows:

1. Lower power consumption for a little better battery life.
2. The new HD 4600 graphics core is on average about 33% more powerful HD 4000 graphics core. There is also the HD 4400 which are used in some of the lower power 4th gen Intel CPUs. I would guess that is is likely about 20% more powerful than the older Intel HD 4000.

I would not worry about RAM at all since it is the easiest component to upgrade except in some ultrabook which solders the RAM into the motherboard. Speaking of ultrabooks, these type of laptops uses the "U" model Intel CPUs which are ULV (ultra low voltage) CPUs. In order to keep power consumption relatively low these "U" model CPUs have the Intel HD 4400 graphics core instead of the more powerful Intel HD 4600. Some typical laptops use the ULV CPUs, but all ultrabooks use ULV CPUs since it is a design requirement.

Very good advice given above about the Intel processors and Intel Graphics by jaguarskx.

As a more Value-for-Money option, I'd like to suggest

HP Pavilion 15-N204TX (with i5 4200U and GT740M)

However, you can also get laptops with i7 processors at around 50k:

Asus K55VM-SX086D
