I have a HP compaq 6820s, unfortunately the dog pulled it off the table and the connector to power lead stopped working. Bought a replacement power lead which worked well for a while but then problems connecting began to show and had to put a pencil under lead to hold it in place etc. Now it is possible to get a flick of blue light but impossible to keep charging.
Q- Is it possible to have the mains lead soldered directly into the laptop and avoid the whole connector problem, having same with Nokia phone! but need that mobile. The laptop is just to run a video through a projector once a day for an hour. Daily for 6 months of the year so will not be used as a laptop as such
