Anything specific for battery life? This should make 4-5 hours of web surfing and word processing, but coding and game playing will drain your battery really fast.

If you want any recommendations on customisations to make, just ask.

If battery life is a non-issue, here's a different system that'll offer more power. Just make sure to upgrade the cooling.

http://www.xoticpc.com/lenovo-ideapad-y510p-59388313-p-...

It's a touch heavier and thicker than the first, and has inferior battery life. The reason I didn't recommend it at first is the first system is a better all rounder.

thank you, i think i was going to go for 16 G memory rather than the standard 8. but im still unsure now between the msi of the ideapad. the ideapad has a better graphics card but mostly everything else seems the same. what are the differences. and as for battery life i would like to have it go for about 2-3 hours of gaming. if possible

No such laptop is in existence. The Lenovo will make 30 min gaming if you're lucky, and the MSI will make about an hour, an hour thirty. The battery life figures I gave you are for the far less demanding tasks like web surfing and word processing.
