Mainly used for surfing the web, watching videos, and occasional gaming

Both will do what you want (though Im not sure which games specifically you are playing)

The Touchsmart uses a newer processor by Intel while the other has the older CPU, the Touchsmart has a stronger CPU and the graphics should be better then the dv6 as well, also it is a low wattage CPU so you should be able to get better battery life. Only con might be that the Touchsmart is a 13 inch laptop while the other is a 15 inch laptop, but if you dont mind a smaller laptop then the Touchsmart is very good all around laptop for what you want (from performance to portability)

I would go with the Touchsmart but like I said both should be able to do what you want
