So, I recently upgraded my Lenovo G460 laptop from an i5-460M to an i7-720QM. I noticed a big jump in temperatures after replacing the CPUs. I currently have a CM U2 as my Cooling Pad. I am currently using Arctic MX-4 Thermal Paste. I used to have my i5 turbo-boost to 2.8Ghz at about 65-70C. Now the i7 idles at about 75-80 at 931Mhz. Also I noticed that part of my heatsink is cracked. Like the skin is cracked. Part of the fins on the outside of the lappy is bent and scratched. Could this be the issue? Or is it because I'm using a 6 month old Thermal Paste? Also underclocked my 310M to the lowest possible clock speed. Thanks in advance
