So my parents are going to get my a laptop as a graduation present in a few months. My budget is $1000 max and i want a good gaming laptop.

I do have a pc which i will be building and mostly using for gaming, but i also want a laptopt that can handle Leage of Legends and all other MMO's. I also want it to be somewhat thin/light. If posible, i'd like to play games like BF4 on med or low settings at atleast 30-40 fps, but i might be going a bit too far for $1000.

So far, i looked at the lenovo ideapad y510, but its just too thick in my opinion. Some of my other options i looked at are

So if you can suggest a new laptop or just choose the best from these three thatd help a lot.

If the IdeaPad Y510p is too thick, then so will be the above recommendation for the Gigabyte. Both laptops are between 1.5" - 1.6" thick.

The above recommended 14" MSI laptop is 1.14" and it is pretty light as well at 4.4lbs. However, it is $1,100 which is above your budget.

The 15.6" Sager NP6652 is a relatively thin laptop at about 1.25" thick, but it is heavy at almost 6lbs. Which in general could be good since the weight may be due to a large heatsink for decent cooling. The base price of $879 does not include the operation system. You need to add $80 for Win 8. Based price comes with the Core i5-4200m and GT 750m.

They also sell 14" laptops which can be lighter, but there are none with dedicated graphics within your price range.

hmm, ok i think i can probably get away with $1100 if i need to. What kind of performance can i expect with the msi and the sager? Portaability is still my main concern however, if i t can run battlefield 4 on low and LoL maxed/high, ill be very happy. Other than these though, any other suggestions?

any thoughts on it? im not sure of the thickness since it doest say and i cant get a side view, but i think these specs are enough for what i will b using it for mainly.

MSI GE60 should be your choice. There's a significant difference between GT750M GDDR3 and GTX 760M GDDR5. And, if you're gaming, I don't think you would want something with a touchscreen. Also, the ASUS has a glossy screen whereas MSI gives you matte screen.
