Hello,

I recently bought a Pioneer vsx-823-k receiver and am in the process of setting it up. I've got a PS3, and STB, and an Asus N53SV laptop wish intel HD 3000 hooked up to the receiver via HDMI and an HDMI Cable running to my TV. The PS3 and set to box work fine with this setup but the laptop only 'sort of' works.

The problem is that when the laptop is on but the tv is off, the sound goes through the reciever and everything is great, but when I turn on the TV - the sound disappears. The laptop detects a second screen and the image is displayed on the tv, so the video works fine, but there is no sound through the receiver or the tv speakers even though I have the HDMI audio output device selected on the laptop.

I have had a different laptop hooked up to test it out and everything worked fine. I've also had my laptop connected to the tv with hdmi directly and that worked fine. Any ideas of how I might be able to fix this?

Thank you

Try changing it from HDMI AMP to HDMI THRU or vice versa. Change this by turning it on, clicking the X/audio parameter button on the remote and then scrolling through the LED display until you find HDMI AMP or HDMI THRU and changing it.
