Hi, I have a Asus G51VX and I read in several places that I could have replaced the P7350 with a T9900. After installing the new CPU the laptop failed to boot windows, and in some cases just re-booted by itself. I managed to get into the BIOS and the CPU was correctly recognized, but I couldn't find any configuration settings to help my case. Any help would be really appreciated.

Ah, in that case it could be the HAL (f you're trying to boot into your existing Windows installation). Your current install of Windows already has a different driver installed for the previous CPU. You may need to reinstall Windows.

Thanks for the hint, I tried it and got the same result, reboot during Windows startup. It's kind of strange because I read that the motherboard Pegatron G60vx is able to support that processor. I got a refund from Amazon, will try my luck on a slower T9600, got it for $39 on Ebay, so not a big loss if it doesn't work.

Yes, it's the latest version released. The cpu gets recognized correctly at the BIOS, and as another user suggested I loaded manufacturer settings and saved and exit. During Windows loading screen, the laptop simply reboots. Also in the BIOS there aren't any settings like voltage or multiplier so not much to play with there.

Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the hint! I had no issues whatsoever with a T9600 which I was able to overclock to 3.15GHz, not sure what the deal was with that 9900.
